Ted Dexter:
If you're going to lose, you might as well lose good and proper and try to sneak a win"
last night i was surfing the net when i came upon this beautiful quote.
i thought that everyone here would get it.
those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

we had a weekend away a couple of weeks ago.
i took a few classic dvd's along in case the weather turned sour.. so i watched ghost with demi moore, that pottery scene has to be one of my favourite ever..........gives me goosebumps!
but it's not my favourite movie of all time/ i'm embarrassed to admit it, but ok i will, cause i'm with friends!
Another vote for The Shawshank Redemption here!
my others would be Schindler's List and The Green Mile.
.
turn up your speakers, and sit back as this kid blows your mind.

AWESOME!!!
It's a wonderful piece of music anyway but the guy didn't do it any disservice at all. i hope he gets discovered soon, he sure deserves it!
what has your experience been with corporate america?.
positive or negative?.
care to elaborate?
We have loads of American brand names etc in the UK. Trading-wise, Costco seems to be making inroads too.
On the whole, the merchandise we sometimes sell in our shop which has been made in the USA tends to be good quality i hope you don't go the way we've gone, most of the manufacturing side is dead here
time to start living again.
i have come to realize that for the last two years i have put my life on hold, i have not been living i have just been floating just existing but not living, not really living.
it is time for me to change this.
Congrats Lola!!
All the best for your journey ahead I know this is supposed to be a 'farewell' blessing, but we can ignore the last couple of lines if you like!!

May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

That was amazing! Definitely must be for real - I never saw my two cats so completely glued to my computer screen. It was worth watching just to see their reaction!
(The more territorial one of mine is now sat scowling at my computer still waiting for the cats to reappear!)

i'm sure i can find some biblical reference about fluff.... what about.... "man cannot live on bread alone, everyone needs fluff once in a while" - pharasees 1:3.
Bad associations spoil useful fluff!

So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the fluff above it. And it was so.

no i don't mean with a publisher!.
i just got back from a weeks block at uni for the year long certificate course i'm doing by distance education.
i'm feeling overwhelmed by the 12 assignments that i have to do, plus the truck road of reading needed.. so who else is combining, study, work, family (kids, husband, housework) etc etc?
Me too! I'm also on the 4th year of 6 doing a BA.
It is really difficult doing distance learning to maintain discipline with your time management (i too struggle to stay off JWD!!) I try to set myself at least one hour per day and then make up any lost time on my reading targets and study for the essays on my days off work. I'm probably slightly better off than you guys as I don't have a family around me so my free time is my own.
Best advice is to try and pace yourself rather than cramming everything in at the last minute - been there, done that, suffered the consequences!
